TGIF 'Prime' is Now in Production, With a Caveat
The long-awaited TGIF Network Prime infrastructure was migrated into production
today, April 25, 2021. However, one running W0CHP-PiStar-Dash
or the
official upstream Pi-Star software, will soon find out that the TGIF manager
under the Admin section does not work (yet).
The reason for this, is that the API on the new TGIF environment is completely different and new. So the official upstream Pi-Star and my fork/version have not yet been updated to take advantage of the new TGIF API.
I have been working closely with the main (and very talented) TGIF developer
Ty, KG5RKI
, on this very issue, but we’ve been experiencing scheduling
conflicts and we’re both very busy.
It’s unfortunate that Prime had been migrated into production before Andy, Ty and I could change the API code in Pi-Star, but it is what it is.
I plan on continuing to work with Ty this week, and get TGIF manager fixed up and hopefully submitted upstream to the Andy’s official Pi-Star, and for certain, implemented in my own fork/version.
In the meantime, TGIF users can manage their talk groups etc. by using the new TGIF Self-Care Facility.
